Dennis Lee with his Hammered Dulcimer near his Ozark Mountain home
About Dennis Lee

Dennis settled in the rugged back-country of the Arkansas Ozarks in 1977, and soon thereafter immersed himself in the local musical culture. He learned the traditional songs and styles by joining in local jam sessions–which often lasted into the wee hours. In 1982 Dennis taught himself to play the Hammered Dulicmer, and worked out Dulcimer arrangements for the many pieces he had earlier committed to memory.

Dennis continues to expand his repertoire. He has studied extensively in the Bluegrass and Country program at South Plains College in Levelland, Texas. He is a frequent performer in Branson Missouri during the fall season, and regularly tours the Upper-Midwestern States during the summer months.

In addition to the hammered dulcimer, Dennis' recordings feature Mandolin, Guitar, Bowed Psaltry, Banjo, Fiddle, Penny Whistle and Bodhran.
